A full day in the mountains, done properly

The Blue Mountains are an hour and a half from the city and a world away from it. We've built this day to hit the headline views — the Three Sisters, the great cliff-lined valleys — while weaving in a waterfall walk, a village lunch and the quiet lookouts the coach crowds skip. Small group, local guide, and time to actually take it in.

Highlights

  • Morning coffee with the Three Sisters at Echo Point, before the crowds
  • A walk down towards the base of Wentworth Falls
  • Lunch and a wander through the streets of Leura village
  • Clifftop lookouts over the Megalong and Grose valleys
  • The escarpment scenic drive most visitors never find

The day, stop by stop

Full itinerary
1
Echo Point, Katoomba — coffee with the Three Sisters

We aim to arrive early, coffee in hand, while the valley is still waking up. It's the classic Blue Mountains view and the best introduction to the scale of the place.

2
Wentworth Falls

A walk down towards the base of the falls — natural steps and a few uneven sections, but worth every one for the view back up the cascade and across the valley.

3
Leura Village — lunch

Time to break for lunch among the tree-lined streets, boutiques and cafés of one of the prettiest mountain towns. Lunch is your choice (and your shout).

4
Katoomba Falls Lookout

A dramatic clifftop vantage over the cascade and the cliffs of the Jamison Valley — the same sweeping views you'd pay for from the Scenic World cable cars, without the price tag. Watch them glide out across the valley, with the Three Sisters off in the distance.

5
Cliff Drive & Cahill Lookout

A scenic run along the escarpment, finishing at a sweeping outlook over the wide green sweep of the Megalong Valley.

6
Govetts Leap, Blackheath

We finish at the Grose Valley, with Bridal Veil Falls threading down the cliffs opposite — arguably the finest lookout in the mountains, and a quiet one to end on.

Order and timing can flex with weather, light and crowds — your guide reads the day to keep it flowing.

What to bring & wear

Comfortable closed shoes with grip, a layer or jacket (mountain weather changes fast and runs cooler than the city), sun protection, and a refillable water bottle. A small daypack and a camera or phone for the lookouts. In cooler months, bring a warm layer — it can be 8–10°C cooler than Sydney.

Pickup points & times

We collect from four central Sydney points, each a short walk (under 1 km) from anywhere in the CBD: Circular Quay, Town Hall (George St), Central Station coach bays, and Darling Harbour. Morning departure; your exact point and time are confirmed on booking. See the pickup map & details.

Good to know

Tours run rain or shine — the lookouts are often spectacular after a shower. The day suits most fitness levels; tell us about anyone with mobility needs and we'll tailor the walks. Not recommended for guests who can't manage uneven natural steps at Wentworth Falls (you can wait at the lookout while the group descends).

Blue Mountains FAQ

Before you book

How long is the tour?

A full day — roughly nine hours door to door. We leave central Sydney mid-morning and have you back by late afternoon.

How much walking is there?

Easy to moderate. Most lookouts are a flat, short stroll from the vehicle. The Wentworth Falls walk has natural steps and uneven ground — if that's not for you, you can enjoy the upper lookout while the group heads down.

Is lunch included?

No — we stop in Leura so you can pick whatever you fancy from the cafés and bakeries. Transport, guiding and all the lookouts are included.

What if it rains?

We run rain or shine, and honestly the valleys look incredible with mist rolling through. We only cancel for genuinely unsafe conditions, in which case you can reschedule or get a full refund.

Can you do hotel pickup?

We use four central pickup points rather than door-to-door, which keeps the day efficient and on time. All four are a short walk from anywhere in the CBD. For private groups we can be more flexible — ask us.
